Cayce like many of his generation was named for and appreciates the association with the famous Edgar of the same name. Unlike Cayce Pollard the fictional main character of William Gibson’s ‘Pattern Recognition’ who detests the association.
The Link today goes to the superb annotated edition of Pattern Recognition created by Joe Clark.
Disclaimer: I in no way agree with Mr.Clark’s assessment of ‘Spook Country’ as being the same book. Certainly there are similarities, however it is a fine work in its own right. I suspect due to the mammoth task Mr. Clark undertook that by completion he was simply thouroughly sick of the work. A very successful communal effort was undertaken to annotate Spook Country, I shall provide link to it at another time.
